FIA Branching into Asia

In response to the rapid growth of futures and options trading in Asia and the increasing level of interest in Asia among its members, the FIA is considering the formation of a new organization to bring together exchanges, brokers and customers with business interests in Asia. FIA Japan is spearheading the effort, with the exact nature of the organization, its membership, and its relationship with the rest of the FIA still to be determined. One of the goals for the new organization is to establish an annual conference modeled on the FIA’s International Futures Industry conference, and planning is underway for the first such conference to be held tentatively in August in Beijing.
